Employment rates in the welding industry are at an all time high with many well paid job opportunities growing rapidly. Even in a slow economy, talented welders and those who can work with steel are in great demand.
Local employers include BIW, Cianbro, Reed & Reed, Fisher Plow and most fabrication shops and boatyards.
Students will receive hands on instruction and practice their skills in a state of the art welding facility. Basic welding skills will be taught including, (SMAW) Shielded Metal Arc Welding, (GMAW) Gas Metal Arc Welding, (FCAW) Flux Core Arc Welding and (GTAW) Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. Many fabrication skills will be taught as well.
This program will prepare students for many job opportunities as a welder or fabricator and encourage post-secondary educational opportunities as well. Whether you want to work on a ship, climb a skyscraper, build bridges to span rivers or further your education, BRCTC Welding Fabrication will provide you the road to sucess.
