What Does Early Childhood Occupations have to Offer?
Do you love to work with children? Do you have a creative side? Then Bath Regional Career and Technical Center has a class just for you. Our Early Childhood Occupations class can give you the opportunity to learn about children and how they develop with hands on experience. In this class, you will get experience reading to children, playing with children, planning activities, being the head teacher and learning how to be a team player in a pre-school setting. With this education from BRCTC, you will be able to compete successfully in today's increasingly competitive job market.
The ECO program collaborates with the local Family Focus, Head Start, CHOICES and elementary schools to offer a variety of field site locations for students to learn and practice in. Students will rotate through these placement throughout the year.
The ECO program is currently running a 2.5 -5 year old and a separate 4 year old program. The 4 year old classroom is a public Pre K site and is part of the RSU#1 CHOICES (Children Having Opportunities in Collaborative Early Settings) universal Pre K program. The 2.5-5 year old class is made up of local preschool aged children in the community.
